Today this clock arrived to us from Germany. We are excited to share it with you here.

After a long wait this clock arrived today from Germany. I wanted to share it with the forum first.

This magnificent small flute clock was made in the Black Forest c. 1770. It plays 5 “bird themed” songs on a rank of 12 pipes.

As the music plays the large blackbird moves side to side and its beak flutters with the tune.

The shield is a wood carved Baroque “Faller” shield with extensive gilding.

We have been looking for the perfect Flute clock with bird song/automata for many years, and was fortunate to be able to secure this example for my collection.

The clock just underwent a museum quality conservation/restoration and plays beautifully.

I have taken a short video where you can see and hear the clock in action. I will post additional videos of the other songs in the near future.
